Hostfamily letter

Hey Guys!
It took me so long to write my hostfamily letter, therefore I thought showing you mine could help you alot.

Dear hostfamily!

My name is Anne. I am from Frankfurt which is a busy city in western Germany. It is also called "Mainhatten", because it looks like a small version of New York and it is by the river Main. I am part of a huge patchwork family. Together with my mother (x), her boyfriend (x), two of his three sons (x 10, x 17, x 19) and our dog (Max), I live in a house with a garden in a more rural area. There is always something going on around our house (ex. people are over or game nights). Although, my parents are separated, I also have a great relationship with my father (x) who lives in downtown Frankfurt. I also have an older brother. His name is x (26) and he studies at a university near the French border. I have a very good relationship with my whole family. They always support me whenever I have a problem. Also, I am always helping out with the household chores. Therefore, it is not a problem for me to clean, cook, hover, iron and go shopping

Right now I am completing my senior year and am looking forward to graduate in July.

I have my driving license since December 2015, but I have also driven a few times during my year abroad in Louisiana (2013/14). I have not had any accident, because I am a very careful driver.
The reasons why I want to go to America as an au pair are because I want to collect valuable memories with a new family and their great children and have the experience of an eventful year abroad with you and your children. I couldn’t imagine a life without children. I love to see them smiling, their shinning eyes on birthdays and Christmas and for example if they say “I love you”. Also it`s great to see how fast they grow up, how fast they can learn new things and it is gorgeous to reply to their thousands of question.
Secondly, I would like to further improve my english skills, because I am thinking of studying at a english University.

One of the attributes that qualifies me for taking care of children is my sense of responsibility. My friends know me as a nice, helpful, reliable, responsible and open-minded person. Also, I respect other cultures, religions and traditions.

I have several childcare experiences. For example: I gave riding lessons for 6 to 8 year olds; tutored in Math; completed an internship at a kindergarten (2 to 7 year olds) and babysat various different children.
The one childcare that is probably most interesting for you is that I babysat a 10 and 5 year old during my time in Louisiana. Therefore, I already have some hands on experience with the american culture and the whole system. Also, I am aware of the “Do’s and Don’ts” in the USA. Obviously, I will adapt to your own style of life, traditions and views on raising children.

I know that working with children comes with great responsibilities, but I am prepared to face every challenge that comes my way. However, in my opinion, children are a quite big luck. They enrich our everyday life and enchant us with her irresistible charm.

Thank you for reading my letter and spending time on getting to know me better. I hope you get a good impression of me and my life. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask me.
I'm really looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Best wishes
Anne

I hope I could help you!
Anne
